I made this last night, and was surprised how good it was. I had never used canned shrimp before. When I opened the can I thought, yuck, it smells like cat food. I didn't have high hopes for the recipe, but it turned out to be yummy. Shrimp Spread 1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese 1 can of tiny shrimp 3 T. mayonnaise 2 or 3 shakes of Worchestershire sauce Drain the shrimp and chop it into smallish bits. Stir together all ingredients. Make it at least an hour before serving so flavors have a chance to blend. Serve on party crackers.

I tried that shrimp spread once, it was tastier than I thought it would be. I had the same reservations about the shrimp. It was good, but next time I'll use the frozen baby size.

I LOVE shrimp, I might have to make it myself to taste test it so Lioness wouldn't make something inferior - ya know, just protecting the Lioness... You are such a good friend!

The absolute least I could do for ya Lioness... Crab should be a very easy switch for the shrimp, Lioness. Here's the Shrimp recipe I talked about- Shrimp Delight 1 C firmly packed shredded cheese 1 C mayonnaise 1 can shrimp, drained 1/2 t curry powder salt to taste 1 med onion, chopped fine 5 english muffins cut in fourths Mix cheese, mayo, curry pdr, salt, shrimp and onion. S[read on muffin quarters and roil 5 minutes, until bubbly. Watch closely. This one should work with crab too. Here's one you don't have to cook but might not work as well with Crab. Shrimp Canapes 1/4 C softened butter 1 t Worcestershire sauce small rounds of toast 16 cooked cleaned shrimp Cream butter with Worcestershire sauce, spread on toast rounds. To[p each with 1 whole shrimp.

Ohhh, I checked out her apps... there is a jalapeno/cream cheese/bacon that looks wonderful and e-a-s-y! It's simply cut the jalapeno's in half lengthwise (about 2" long jalapenos), scoop out the seeds, fill with softened cream cheese, wrap with a piece of bacon (bacon is cut in thirds first). Bake 375* 20 to 25 minutes. Don't those sound yummy?

Ok, one more and I'll quit. Stuffed Strawberry Blossoms 1 (8 oz) cream cheese softened 1/2 C powdered sugar 1 t vanilla or almond extract (or 1 to 2 T orange liqueur) Mix til blended well. Put into a plastic zip baggie and cut off the tip of one corner. 1 qt clean ripe strawberries - either cut the top (green part) off flat so it "stands" evenly, then cut it in quarters starting at the tip but not cutting all the way through, spread the berries open a bit and pipe the cream cheese mixture into them. OR take the green top off and scoop out the core, pipe cream cheese into cavity. Very yummy and pretty quick.

I bet it'd be even better if they were dipped in chocolate afterwards! lol.

Ok, I can't help myself. Here's 2 more. This came out of a Paula Dean cookbook, but I also saw it in the link Elena gave earlier and in that one she mentioned it was quite "popular" in the 70/80's but I don't remember ever having them. They do fit the criteria of easy, most of the stuff can be kept on hand and fairly quick to make if you use the 350* method. Bacon Crisps 1/2 C freshly grated Parmesan cheese 1 lb bacon sliced in half 1 sleeve Waverly Wafers or buttery rectangular cracker like Club crackers Preheat oven to 250* Place 1 t cheese on each cracker and wrap tightly with the bacon - be sure to cover entire cracker. Place the wrapped crackers on a broiler rack or baking sheet with a rack and bake for 2 hours or until the bacon is done- do not turn. Drain on paper towels, serve hot or at room temp. Paula's note also said she has done them at 350* for 40 minutes and they turned out well. These probably don't meet any of the criteria, however they sound good . Ham Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes 1/2 C very finely chopped cooked ham 1/4 C crumbled blue cheese 1/4 C sour cream 1/4 t lemon juice Dash of pepper 36 cherry tomatoes Combine ham, cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, and pepper. Refrigerate. Cut tomatoes in half with a sharp knife, scoop out insides. Spoon about 1/2 t ham-cheese mixture into each tomato, mounding slightly. Ok, now I'm off to work (or to check out more cookbooks - no really, I do have to work now )

My recipe is very close to that Tink, but it also has salsa or tomaotes and lettuce - oh ya, and black olives on top.
